Loom design in Pakistan wins Pakistan International Loom Competition
Commercial carpet design in Pakistani city of Lahore has won the Pakistan International Loom Competition 2017.
The competition was organised by the Lahore Municipal Corporation (LMC) to promote the use of carpets as part of the city’s beautification project.
The design for the new carpets is based on a theme of the new city and its theme of sustainable design.
The project was inaugurated on December 5, 2017 and the winners of the competition will be announced on January 7.
The winning designs include a floral design that combines the colours of the moon and the colours from the city of Peshawar and the theme of sustainability.
The designs were made from 3,000 carpets, which were assembled in Lahore.
The city is currently undergoing the first phase of the project, which aims to provide clean water for residents.
