A Pennsylvania church that was rocked by a shooting last week has opened its doors for those in need, but there’s no word on whether the gunman was a member.

The Rev. Stephen McQuarrie, who is the pastor of St. James Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, said Sunday that his congregation is doing what it can to provide relief.

But he stressed that there are no confirmed shootings in the area.

He said his church has seen a rise in the number of people coming in.

He said some people have been brought in for fear of the shooting being worse.

McQuarries mom was in the house when the gunfire broke out and was rushed to the hospital, McQuarie said.

“We are doing what we can and we are working through what needs to be done,” McQuaria said.

“We are in the midst of a crisis.”

McQuarie told ABC News he hopes the shooting doesn’t affect the church’s pastor, Dr. Christopher C. Smith, who was hospitalized last week after a shooting at the church.

“We have a pastor who has been shot and killed.

We are trying to move forward,” Mcquarie said Sunday.”

I hope that Dr. Smith is alright and that the church is able to move on.

The pastor has not been shot.

We have a very small congregation, and we have been very supportive of each other.”

The shooting that occurred at St. George Baptist Church in West Chester was captured on surveillance video.

A pastor and several others were killed and nine others were wounded when a gunman opened fire at the congregation on March 26.

Smith’s wife, Jennifer, was also at the house the night of the attack.

She was shot in the leg and is expected to survive, according to NBC Philadelphia.
